Bio
I was born in Tartu, Estonia (the most northern one of the Baltic States).
At the age of 12 I started studying classical guitar which later led into playing Nirvana cover songs on the electric guitar in my teens and after that buying my first jazz guitar.
I started studying jazz in Tallinn. After two years in Estonian Music and Theater Academy I continued and finished my bachelor studies in Weimar, Germany with Prof. Frank Möbus.
I gained a master’s degree with honours in music performance jazz at the Hochschule der Künste Bern in Switzerland where I studied with Ronny Graupe, Kalle Kalima, Alexandra Grimal, Jim Black, Ralph Alessi and Django Bates, among others.
I play and compose in different ensembles like Assonance, Noblique, Kalk/Baillod/Kaeser, EDNA, Anemoon and Anna Kalk Quartet.
